Dr Dominic Saaityo Nyitamen was born on 12 October, 1967, at Yande in Konshisha Local Government of Benue State, Nigeria. After his Secondary Education he proceeded to the then University of Jos, where he obtained B.Eng in Electrical Electronics and Communications Engineering in 1991. Dr Nyitamen obtained his Master of Engineering degree and PhD Electrical Engineering at the Bayero University, Kano (BUK) in 1998 and 2006 respectively. He was at George Green Institute of Electromagnetic Research (GGIEMR), School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering University of Nottingham, UK as a Visiting Scholar for his post doctoral experience in electromagnetics.
Dr Nyitamen joined the services of the Nigerian Defence Academy as an Assistant Lecturer in December 1993. He was promoted in 2015 to the rank of an Associate Professor of Electrical Engineering.
He has served on various committees within and outside the Academy. He has led accreditation team visits to several Polytechnics in Nigeria over the years and member, COREN accreditation to Universities. Two times Head of Department of Electrical Electronic Engineering, NDA.
Member, Nigerian Society of Engineers, MNSE and COREN Registered. He is also a member of the Institute of Electrical Electronic Engineering (IEEE) as well as Member, National Technical Committee TC-77 African Electrotechnical Standardization Commission (AFSEC)
Dr Nyitamen has significant experience in the use of anechoic chamber and GTEM cell in HF electromagnetic measurements with demonstrable skills in Labview, CST, HFSS and the George Green TLM software. His research interest includes wireless communications, Antennas, Frequency selective surfaces, Electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) and Electromagnetic Applications. He has several publications to his credit.
