On behalf of staff and Cadets of Logistics and supply Chain Management (LSM), I welcome you to the Department of Logistics and Supply Chain Management. The department was established in August 2018 because of the growing need for effective logistics in the Nigerian Armed forces. Located in the Faculty of Military Science and Interdisciplinary Studies, the Department has a mandate to equip Logistics and Supply Chain Management Officer Cadets to be capable of solving logistic problems in military operations and applying themselves effectively to the needs of the various sections of the Armed Forces. Being the newest Department in Academy so far, we express profound gratitude to the Management of the Nigerian Academy for all the support we have received to be able to have a smooth take off. The Department of Logistics and Supply Chain Management was established in August 2018 and domiciled in the Faculty of Military Science and Interdisciplinary Studies. Logistics and Supply Chain Management programme is very unique in the Nigerian University system as NDA is about the first University in the country to start the programme at undergraduate level. The Department commenced academic activities for the 2018/2019 Academic session in October 2018, with five (5) Cadets.
The philosophy of the programme is to produce military officers and Postgraduate Students with high academic standards and adequate background and knowledge of the needs of the military in particular, industry and the nation in general.
The objectives of the programme are to provide Officer Cadets and Postgraduate Students with:
- the analytical concepts and understanding of the scientific basis of Logistics and Supply Chain Management and use of the knowledge for the benefit of the Armed Forces and the Nation in general.
- the necessary attributes that are essential for progressive and continuous development of a career of exemplary service to the nation.
- specialist skills and to develop an understanding and application of the concepts and frameworks that could be applied in single service, joint or multinational operations.
- Courtesy, demonstrated by civility and politeness.
Candidates for admission into the four year degree programme should possess a Senior Secondary School Certificate or General Certificate of Education, NECO or their equivalents with at least five credit passes obtained in not more than two sittings of which three must be in English Language, Mathematics and Economics, and any other two either in Accounting, Commerce, Government or Geography. An acceptable UTME score is also required
